I received this amazing bamboo cutting board from ApexTech Labs. The Green Board Cutting Board is unique and durable but also environmentally friendly.
Their company produces a variety of products for start-up companies, and the green board is the idea of one of their own. Their focus is on environmentally friendly products but also focused on giving back. They plant 10 trees for every board they sell. I also received some environmentally friendly plastic bags that are biodegradable for my food waste.
The green board is a unique board that’s a little different than the average cutting board. It is made from bamboo and is designed to fit in small spaces. It has a cutting surface, and then on the side, there is an opening where you can attach a plastic bag to catch scraps.
The opening on the side also holds a green plastic storage container so that you can easily slide your cut fruits and vegetables right into the container.
The current board is 12“ x 18“. It weighs 1 lb. 8 oz. The weight is evenly distributed so that the opening can hang over the edge of your kitchen countertop and hold your scraps or container with food without tipping off the edge of your counter.
Based on my tests, the plastic bag can hold up to 10 pounds of food waste and steal before tipping off the edge.
The board is very durable. I put it through a test as if it was to be knocked off of the counter. I dropped it from 4 feet, and there was very little damage, if any, on the board’s corners. They took their testing to the next level and dropped a 75-pound weight from a height of about 6 feet, and the board flexed but did not crack or splinter.
I am really impressed with this board.
