I just received the brand new White Cook Chef Knife, and I took a few moments to unbox this on video for you. This high carbon stainless steel (7Cr17) chef knife boasts being twice as hard as similar knives. This allows it’s blade to remain sharper for a longer period of time. The wooden also handle provides and elegant look. This is the first knife from the White Cook Company, and it is offered through Amazon. I had not heard of this company or it’s products, so I decided to see how it compared to other well known brands.

Quick Thoughts
- 100% Money back guarantee – You cannot go wrong with a company that offers to give you your money back if you are not satisfied for any reason. You don’t have anything to lose with giving this knife a try.
- Sharp out of the box – A quick test on some slick magazine paper shows how sharp this knife comes. I have seen sharper knives, but there is no concern with this knife out of the box.
- Overall balanced knife – The knife feels a little heavy in the handle, however I can balance it at the bolster. There is a little more weight on the handle side, but this may be caused by the design of the bolster.
- Well presented package – The knife comes in a elegant box with a magnetic flap. The inside is lined with a red felt interior. This makes an excellent gift already wrapped up for the receiver.
- Beautiful handle – The Pakka wooden handle adds a stunning look to this knife.
- Slight imperfections – After closely examining the blade, handle, and bolster; I found some slight imperfections on the bolster. It’s not as clean as the forged J.A. Henckels International Classic Knife. There are some small indentations around the bolster. This does not affect the performance of the knife and is purely a cosmetic issue.
After unboxing this knife I am eager to give it a try. With a price under $40 I’d like to see how the White Cook Chef Knife compares to other budget knives. I’ll be using this knife in my kitchen for the next couple weeks, and I’ll do a full review of my findings.
